Our Story

Hi, my name is Sarah Fitzgerald, and I’m a co-founder of StitchedCase! In January 2021, my parents gave me my first phone, an iPhone 11 that I still use today. With it, they bought me a protective clear phone case to prevent wear and tear, which was super nice because I am definitely prone to dropping my phone.

However, after a few months passed, I started to get bored with the plain clear case. I wanted something to reflect my personality and spruce up the outside of my phone. When I went on the hunt for a cute custom phone case, the prices were astronomical: from 40 to 80 dollars, all for a new case? I wasn’t about to spend that kind of money, especially not when I already had a working case.

At this time, there was a trend going around on Pinterest where people with clear phone cases would stick photos, mementos, and more underneath their case. They had found a creative way to accessorize their case without breaking the bank, and so I did the same!

I printed out some quotes and meaningful images and made a patchwork collage that fit perfectly under my clear case. More than once, friends and family complimented me and wondered where I had gotten my case. When I told them I had made it myself, they came to me with requests for collages of their own.

I thought about starting a business as a side hustle but never quite got around to it until taking Barrington High School’s IncubatorEDU class in 2023. I joined forces with Brody Dickson, Estella Brockway, and Max Golich, and now we are turning my little art project into a legitimate business. StitchedCase makes customizable inserts to go underneath clear phone cases, and they are affordable and easily swapped out so your phone case can be as unique as you are.
